CAS-SEABRI Completed the fifth China- Myanmar joint field biodiversity survey in Northern Myanmar
The fifth scientific field survey
On the invitation of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC),Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden(XTBG),Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) led a field scientific expedition in the central and north part of Myanmar, including Victoria peak, Hponkanrazi Nature Reserve and Hkakaborazi National Parkfrom April 28 to May 26, 2017. The expedition team was led by Director Assistant, Professor Ruichang QUAN of XTBG, and jointed by Institute of Botany, CAS, Institute of Zoology, CAS, Bureau of International Co-operation CAS and MONREC, which include 25 people.
After experiencing a lot of hard work, the scientific expedition team further investigated the biodiversity of Myanmar and got lots of precious biodiversity primary data. Meanwhile, this international team was gradually trained as a new generation of talent who will respond positively to national and regional needs and contribute to the biodiversity research and conservation of Southeast Asia region.
