CIB went to Myanmar to implement the experiment of hybrid rice

The rice research group of CIB went to Myanmar to implement the experiment of hybrid rice form June 6 to 11, 2017.

Form June 6 to 11, 2017, associate professor Shenbin TU and research assistant Hui LI of Chengdu Institute of Biology (CIB), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) went to Myanmar to implement multi-plot demonstration of hybrid rice experiment in Nay Pyi Taw, central Myanmar, and Mandalay, northern Myanmar, using select 44 varieties of rice from Sichuang, Hunan, Jiangxi etc. provinces of China and their group and carry out investigation of rice resources. Thus they smoothly complete the project task of this trip. 

During this trip, they also visited CAS-Southeast Asian Biodiversity Research Institute (SEABRI) Myanmar Office, Yezin Agricultural University (YAU), Hybrid Rice Research Section and Seed Bank of Department of Agricultural Research (DAR). 

The Myanmar side expressed they look forward to sign an inter-ministerial memorandum of understanding with the CAS in the hope of conducting extensive, in-depth and sustained international scientific and technological cooperation in the fields of hybrid rice and other agricultural areas.
