Interview for Research Assistants of CAS-SEABRI in Myanmar

On 9th March, 2017, 20 applicants selected from 53 were interviewed by the four team leaders of CAS-SEABRI

        After celebrating the unveiling ceremony of  CAS-SEABRI in Myanmar on 12th October, 2016, all the teams of CAS-SEABRI had been conducting several field surveys to Myanmar and collecting the specimens for scientific research progress. Therefore, CAS-SEABRI organized to recruit the new research assistants for filling up the need for the laboratories in Myanmar. 

        Four vacancies for research assistants of laboratories in CAS-SEABRI were announced and (53) application forms were received. Then, the recruitment team selected (20) candidates as short list for interview and it was held on 9th March, 2017. 

        For recruiting new research assistants, the four team leaders of CAS-SEABRI, headed by Prof. Dr. Quan Ruichang, Deputy Director of CAS-SEABRI, visited CAS-SEABRI during 7th to 11th March 2017. 

       And there were six judges for the interview:

(3) Dr. Xuefei  YANG      Team Leader      (Traditional Medicine and  Ethnobotany Research Group)

(4) Mr. Yunhong TAN       Team Leader    (Plant Diversity and Conservation Research Group) 

(5) Dr. Thaung Naing Oo      Director /Project Manager      Forest Research Institute

(6) Dr. Yazar Minn       Assistant Director / Project Coordinator    Forest Research Institute

After interviewing for the whole day, judges decided to recruit the excellent five assistants for four labs and they are-

(1)Mr. Ye Htet Lwin        Animal Diversity and Conservation Research Group

(2)Mr. Pyae Phyo Hein     Traditional Medicine and Ethnobotany Research Group

(3)Ms. Thinn Su Tin         Plant Diversity and Conservation Research Group

(4)Ms. Mya Bhone Maw    Plant Diversity and Conservation Research Group

(5)Mr. Paing Zaw  Aquatic Diversity and Conservation Research Group

        Since CAS-SEABRI is cooperated with Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Myanmar, it becomes prevailing among forestry science students because of its scientific research and new findings of researchers during their field surveys, and the forestry science degree holders are interested in working at CAS-SEABRI. Therefore, all the selected applicants for research assistants are graduated from University of Forestry which is the only one forestry science university in Myanmar and also famous for its capacity and quality. So, knowledge of forestry graduated assistants and their commitments to Nature can be expected to support the scientific research of CAS-SEABRI.
