Development and Conservation of Traditional Ethnomedicine

More than twenty participants from Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Philippines, Nepal, Bhutan, India and China participate in the workshop

        The training workshop held in Kunming City and Xishuangbanna Prefecture of Yunnan Province on 25th Oct. – 7th Nov. 2015. More than twenty participants from Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Philippines, Nepal, Bhutan, India and China participate in the workshop. The training course focuses on different aspects of Ethnomedicine, including investigation and documentation of traditional knowledge, science-based development and industrialization of Ethnomedicine, and conservation practices. Lectures, delivered by well-known Ethnobotanists from China, Thailand and Viet Nam, and study tours to academic institutions, field demonstration sites and Pharmaceuticals are the major components of the training workshop. It is also designed in the manner of experiences sharing from participants through country reports of relevant topics. The workshop aims at providing training course and networking for young scientists and practitioners working on Ethnobotany and Ethnomedicine in Southwest Asia.
